There are places that for one or several reasons belong to your list of favorite places. Places where you spend good and special moments with also special persons, or even alone. And then, even if you don´t realize, these places enter to be part of your top places, where every time you go, you feel that good mood that lets you enjoy everything.
Fuengirola is full of wonderful places where to spend a good time, eating, drinking while having a good talk. Places for different kinds of taste and moments. For us some of our indispensable sites are:
Cafés
Pan y Chocolate: this Café is full of colour, decorated in a vintage style. you will find there an interesting and comfortable atmosphere. I have to tell you, that you will find it difficult to know what to order, because everything is delicious. If you are a sweet person, you will find a variety of succulent cakes that they make themselves. There are also different options of healthy toasts, with avocado, fresh cheese, tomato, ham, honey, marmalade… a gift for your senses. Also for drinking you can choose between different kinds of cafes, teas or juice. It is located in the center, in the street: San Pancracio, 6.
Lorena Café: I can´t remember the number of fresh juices and “ pitufos” I have eaten here 🙂 Lorena Café is a place where it doesn’t matter the time you go, you will always have a good option to order. They have a varied menu of fresh juices, which are served in big glasses and just the moment you drink them, you feel a good effect on your body 🙂 Also the “pitufos” or “pepitos” (it is bigger than pitufo), are served in warm bread (normal, whole or multi cereals) in combination with whatever you want (meat, omelette, lettuce, tomate, eggs, bacon …). It is perfect for breakfast, lunch or even evening. There are two in the center of Fuengirola. One of them located in the street: Hermanos Pinzón, 4 (center) and another one in the street: Av. Ramón y Cajal, 48 (Los Boliches).
Tejeringo’s Coffee: I fully recommend you try the “Chocolate con churros” and one of the best places is “Tejeringo´s Coffee”. You will always find a lively atmosphere and several options to enjoy a breakfast or snack at any time of the day. It is definitely a trendy place lately that you should know, the interior has a comfortable and nice decoration and also it has a terrace. There are several in Fuengirola, one of them located in the street: Av. Jesus Santos Rein 1 (center). If it is full and you wish to try “Chocolate con churros” another good option is the coffee “Costa del Sol” located in the street: Marbella nr 3.
Crepería La Plaza: This is a new place I discovered lately and it has become one of my favorite places. It is a lovely and quiet place in the center of Fuengirola where you can enjoy a delicious fresh juice with a good elaborated snack. Also the sweet options are highly recommended. I am sure you will love it. It is located close to the “Plaza Constitucion” in the street: Emancipación nr 5.
Restaurants & Chiringitos
Favourite “Chiringitos”: First of all let me know to clarify the meaning of chiringito, it is a beach bar which especialities normally are the fishes although you will find also salads, meat,”paellla” etc. Along the promenade you will see many of them, and most of them offer a good quality for a good price. Here some of our recommendations: chiringito Oasis ( Paseo Marítimo Rey de España, nr 132); Botavara (Paseo Marítimo Rey de España 4 bis); Chiringito Gali Gali (Paseo Marítimo Rey de España nr 6); El limonero (Paseo Marítimo Rey de España, nr 4).
La Caracola: it can be considered a “vip chiringito”, it is situated in an idyllic place, in front of the beach and restored recently, without doubt it is a restaurant you should try. They offer a modern and also a traditional recipe with a good quality, seafoods and variety of fishes as their specialties as well as a great variety of “tapas”. An spectacular space to enjoy a relaxing and unforgettable evening. It is situated close to the apartment, walking through the promenade in the Paseo Marítimo Rey de España parc 9.
Casa Colón: it is situated in a famous plaza, close to the market La Galería, in the street: Troncón, 6. It is a lively plaza, full of terraces, where people enjoy good talks with a good wine and their favorite “tapas”. One of the terraces in this plaza belongs to Casa Colón, always with a good atmosphere and with delicious glasses of wine and succulent “tapas” on the tables. I recommend you, for example, to taste “tapas” as: the croquettes, the Iberian ham, cheese and chorizo, also the Russian salad, the scrambled eggs… Definitively Colon is a very good option to spend an animated evening talking, drinking and eating quality food. Sometimes it is not easy to find a table free, in this case you will have to ask a waiter who put you on the waiting list, or you can choose another terrace in the plaza. I assure you that all of them are a really good choice 😉
Charolais: It is one of the famous restaurants, known for the quality and good food served. Charolais is a combination of Basque-Andalusian food, really delicious. It is located also close to the market La Galería, in the street: Larga, 14. You have here two options, the restaurant, more expensive, with a friendly terrace or an informal version from Charolais where “tapas” is served. They are next to each other. Both are always full, so I recommend you to book, specially in the restaurant. They have a varied delicious menu and “tapas”, whatever you order will be a wise choice. Also in combination with a Rioja wine or Rivera del Duero wine, you will have the perfect lunch or dinner 🙂
Sukiyaki: If you like sushi and Asiatic food, our highly recommended Japanese restaurant is Sukiyaki. It is an “all you can eat” where they offer a good quality for a reasonable price. it is situated close to the apartment in the street: Paseo Marítimo Rey de España, nr 9. Another good option to eat Asian food are “Mr Noodles” (Av. Jacinto Benavente 3) and PadThaiWok ( Av. Jacinto Benavente 9) . They are another concept of restaurant but the food is really good and healthy.
Pizzeria Casa Pasta: It is a pizzeria where you will find a comfortable and nice space to have lunch or dinner. The pizzas and pasta are really good with a competitive price. If you like Italian food Casa Pasta is without doubt a good option. It is located in the center Fuengirola in the street: Palangreros nr. 16.
Pizzeria La Pérgola: It is a pizzeria that I have been visiting for many years and it is always a pleasure for the senses. It has a particular and special atmosphere. It is a different place where you feel really good and where you find a variety of menus for enjoying and tasting. It is located in the center in the street: Larga nr 5.
Pizzeria Antonio Pucci: It is a trendy pizzeria in the center of Fuengirola where they make exquisite pizzas, also salads. The mass, ingredients, the service and price are the perfect combination to go there and taste a Gourmet pizza, definitely a perfect choice for an Italian food. It is located in the street: Marbella 16.
I have now in my mind all these places, but for sure there are more incredible places to go in Fuengirola. It is full of cafes where you can enjoy a good breakfast with views to the sea and feeling the sun in your face even in winter, when it is really appreciated. Also restaurants for lunch or dinner, where you can taste a huge variety of fish, meat, “tapas” or eat a delicious “paella” and drink our famous “sangría”.
